The City of Loveland, Colorado (“City”) is requesting sealed proposals to provide Scrap Metal Recycling Services. Proposals must be received electronically at bids@cityofloveland.org on or before 2:00 p.m. (Mountain Time “MT”) on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at which time they will be recorded, but not publicly opened.
The City’s email system will date, and time stamp all proposals. Proposals that are not received by the deadline set forth above, as determined by the City’s email system, will not be considered. The City is not responsible for delays occasioned by the internet, electric utility, or City’s internal email system.
The City of Loveland Solid Waste Division (City) operates a full-line recycling drop-off center (Center) for use by Loveland and surrounding area residents. The Center is located at 400 N. Wilson Ave., Loveland. Scrap metal is one of several items accepted at the Center. On average, the City receives approximately 55-60 tons of scrap metal per month. Since the Center is staffed, the City is able to somewhat control the quality of incoming materials. Appliances containing refrigerants are not placed with scrap metal but are accepted and placed in a separate roll-off box.
An on-site visit is welcome and encouraged at our Recycling Center at 400 N. Wilson Ave. Appointments are required and can be scheduled with Tyler Bandemer, Superintendent of Solid Waste or Andrew Hansen, Recycling Center Site Supervisor. Please call (970) 962-2609 or (970) 962-2768 to set up an appointment. Appointments will be scheduled between 8am and 4pm, Monday through Friday
