***PLEASE SEE ADDENDUM FOR UPDATES ON THIS PROJECT***
The City of Manitou Springs is seeking to improve community resiliency through active capital planning efforts and to include incorporating energy conscious green infrastructures. The updating / creation of a Manitou Springs Parks and Facilities Capital Improvement Plan (MSPFCIP) will better serve the city’s residents and staff, by fully identifying all city-owned facilities and improving long term maintenance and care for all City Parks and Facilities. The City owns approximately 61 facilities and other public infrastructure, including City Hall, a Fire Station, numerous park pavilions, a recreation center, several pedestrian bridges, Water Treatment Plant, and numerous public restrooms and mineral springs pump houses. Included in this tally are a municipal cemetery that contains an historic chapel, 80-acres of park facilities, and a cottage at the city’s reservoir within the city’s watershed.
