Description

The goal of this project is to mitigate the impacts from future debris flow events from the basin located above the water plant and water tank in Glenwood Springs. The mitigate improvements would consist of removing material from previous slides and constructing a debris flow detention basin, installation of debris fencing, construction of gabion walls, construction of a new box culvert, installation of culverts and effort to regrade and repair the existing channel. Part of the work is in semi-remote areas and helicopter work will be required. All work is to be performed in accordance with the “State Department of Highways – Division of Highways – State of Colorado – Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction”, latest edition and City of Glenwood Springs Design Standards.

Event Note

There will be a mandatory walkthrough on site and a representative from your firm must sign their name on the official sign-in sheet distributed at the walkthrough to be eligible to submit a proposal. This walkthrough will begin at City Hall in Council Chambers, 101 W. 8th Street, promptly at 11 am. Staff will provide a quick overview of the project and answer questions, then the meeting will move to the Basin A site. This process is expected to be competitive with numerous vendors participating.
