This project will replace the fans and greatly increase the reliability of the lab exhaust system and the safety for students, faculty and staff who use and maintain them; and is a high priority due to the age and poor condition of existing exhaust fans. New exhaust fans, new stacks, motors, controls, and variable frequency drives will be required. Existing exhaust fans will be disposed of appropriately. The project also includes exhaust system improvements in lab spaces by providing larger exhaust ducts for ventilated gas cabinets, along with exhaust system testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB).
This is Step 1 of a two-step solicitation process where qualification packages will be reviewed, evaluated, and scored for each submitting firm. The highestranking firms will be included as pre-qualified, short-listed Mechanical and/or General Contractors.
