The Colorado Main Street Program, which operates out of the Division of Local Government within the Department of Local Affairs, hires technical experts to help strengthen local Main Street programs and support their success. Colorado Main Street communities are able to hire consultants, most of whom have been prequalified by the Colorado Main Street Program, to complete projects for their programs, especially if they share best practices and lessons learned and any tools that can be applied to other communities. With this resource, the local Main Street communities have requested the assistance of a contract consultant to help them develop their Requests for Proposals, scopes of work, selection the best consultants for their projects/programs, and work on their behalf to ensure projects remain on task and on budget. The Colorado Main Street program may also hire consultants to help meet local program needs where services can be consolidated (e.g., training and resource creation)
