The purpose of this solicitation is to establish a Praxis Tutoring Program for DPS. The primary goal of this program is to support non-native English speakers, first-generation immigrants, first-generation college students, international teacher candidates and anyone overcoming challenges associated with the Praxis/teacher licensure requirement.
These exams are a crucial component of the Colorado Department of Education teacher licensure requirement. However, we know that many aspiring educators face significant hurdles in passing these exams, particularly non-native English speakers, and those from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds. The language barrier and unfamiliarity with the exam format can be substantial obstacles for these candidates, who most likely are filling our hardest to staff positions.
DPS recognizes and values the potential our candidates bring to our learners. It is essential to provide the necessary support to ensure they can successfully navigate the licensure process and contribute to our schools as a teacher who meets all of the requirements to be a highly qualified educator.
