Summary of Specifications:
Separate sealed bids for 2010 ASPHALT OVERLAY PROJECT, DOUGLAS COUNTY PROJECT NUMBER CI 10-002 will be received by the Owner, Douglas County Government, Department of Community Planning and Sustainable Development, Engineering Division, Phillip S. Miller Building, 100 Third Street, Suite 220, Castle Rock, CO 80104, until Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. This project includes the placement of asphalt overlay, patching, pavement marking, and traffic control at various locations throughout Douglas County.
The Contract Documents may be examined at the above address after 10:00 a.m., on Monday, March 29, 2010, and copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained upon payment of $25.00 for each set. The $25.00 is non-refundable. (Additional charge if mailing is required.)
A PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at the Department of Community Planning and Sustainable Development, Engineering Division, Phillip S. Miller Building, 100 Third Street, Suite 220, Castle Rock, CO 80104. The Bid Opening will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at the same address.
The Project includes the following major items and approximate quantities:
• Removal of Asphalt Mat (Owners Property) (Planing) (1 ½” Thickness)45,638 SY; • Aggregate Base Course (Class 6) (Complete-In-Place) – 500 TONS; • Hot Mix Asphalt (Grading SX) Paving (Haul and Asphalt) - 13,541 TONS; • Hot Mix Asphalt (5” Depth) (Grading S) (Haul and Asphalt) Small Patching – 2,000 TONS; • Hot Mix Asphalt (5” Depth) (Grading S) (Haul and Asphalt) Large Patching – 2,400 TONS; • Adjust Manholes – 149 Each • Adjust Water Valves – 159 Each • Unclassified Excavation (Haul) – 1,666 CY
Prior to submitting a Bid Proposal, Bidders shall have received prequalification status (active status) with the Colorado Department of Transportation to bid on individual projects of the size and kind of work as set forth herein.
