The Department of Community Development, Division of Parks, Trails & Building Grounds and the Department of Facilities, Fleet & Emergency Support Services of Douglas County Government, hereinafter referred to as the County, respectfully requests bids from responsible qualified vendors for the provision of the purchase of various types of cordless, battery-powered lawn & landscaping equipment and related charging infrastructure, as specified.
The Colorado Air Quality Control Commission adopted Regulation 29 in 2024 to reduce air pollution emissions that form ground-level ozone. This regulation prohibits the use of gas-powered equipment (less than 10 horsepower) by municipalities during the summer months. Douglas County Government regularly uses this type of equipment in Parks, Trails & Building Grounds, as well as Facilities Maintenance operations. The prohibition on small gas-powered equipment begins on June 1, 2025. In order to be compliant with these regulations, the County is seeking bids from qualified vendors to purchase new equipment prior to the new regulation taking effect. This purchase will be funded in part by the Federal Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program.
