El Paso County is soliciting bids from qualified, experienced, professional Contractors to furnish all materials, labor, and equipment necessary for Construction of the Akers Yard Drainage Improvements Project, which is to provide improvements to the on-site conveyance systems, storage and non-structural source control in order to meet El Paso County MS4 requirements. The proposed improvements include:
1.Construction of two (2) proposed full spectrum extended detention ponds, stormwater infrastructures, and conveyance systems
2.Removal and construction driveway culverts
3.Relocate and installation of utilities which include gas, electric, water and sanitary
4.Construction of a concrete pad for equipment wash
5.Installation of a mechanical pre-engineered shed
6.Removal and replacement of asphalt pavement
7.Installation of curb and gutter
8.Restoration of Landscaping
9.Other activities also include mobilization, traffic control, and temporary stormwater control measures.
The Akers Yard Drainage Improvements Project (the “Site”) is located in the NE Section 32, Township 13S, Range 65W within Colorado Springs, El Paso County (the “County”), Colorado which is located within the El Paso County Maintenance Yard which is located at 3275 Akers Drive, Colorado Springs, Co 80122. The Site is bound by Akers Drive to the West/Southwest, Gil Johnson Point to the East/Southeast and Mule Deer Business Park Filing No. 1 to the North. The approximate 65-acre Site consists of existing buildings, gravel storage facilities, asphalt parking lots, driveways, landscaping, and native vegetation. There are no existing major drainageways within or adjacent to the Site limits. There is one (1) existing detention pond, one (1) existing water quality pond and two (2) existing unsized depressional areas located within the Site limits. On-site utilities include sanitary sewer, gas, fiber optic, electric, and storm sewer. All existing utility systems were considered in the design of the drainage systems and facilities.
