17-110 - Construction of the Galley Sidewalk Project

El Paso County proposes to construct pedestrian improvements along the south side of Galley Road between Powers Boulevard and Hathaway Drive. Galley Road (which turns into Peterson Rd.) provides an important connection between State Highway 21 (Powers Blvd.) and US 24. The corridor serves as a through road as well as an access road to businesses, community services, recreation, a school and the residential neighborhood. Galley Road also serves an important feeder to the Mountain Metro bus system that takes residents up and down Powers and downtown for transfers.
 
The Project will generally consist of installing new concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, and pedestrian ramps along the south side of Galley Road from Powers Boulevard to Hathaway Drive. Additionally, drainage improvements will be installed between Paonia Street and Valley Street.
