2405 - Nutrition Services - Local Food

The District desires to enter into a contract with a Food Hub/Vendor to act as a local produce vendor for the district to procure both unprocessed and minimally processed products. Approximately 90% of local fresh fruits and vegetables will be delivered through this agreement. Mapleton Nutrition Services desires to purchase local raw and minimally processed fresh fruit and vegetables that are Colorado grown and produced. The district is expected to purchase about $30,000 in local product for the rest of the 2023-2024 school year and approximately $150,000 in years thereafter. This is not an exclusive contract, and the district is free to purchase products from other sources when desired.
The purpose of the RFP is to get the best value in providing fresh raw and minimally processed fruits and vegetables that align with the district needs, values, and operations for highest efficiencies.
