Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Scope of Work (SOW) will include demolition and removal of existing sidewalks, steps, handrails, curb and gutter and some fill material. Custer County will make the landfill available to receive the concrete and soil, however any asphalt that will be removed cannot be accepted in Custer County. The project will include removing existing asphalt from the east lane of the highway, install new curb and gutter and elevating and re-paving the east side of Highway 69 South. Also included in the scope of work is the re-sloping of two entry sidewalks from the county building to match the lower elevation of the newly constructed pedestrian sidewalk, which may necessitate some retaining concrete walls. ADA compliant ramps may be necessary to incorporate into the sidewalk design to meet slope requirements of the ADA. Consideration shall be given to assure proper drainage into existing storm water drains as well as consideration of an existing fire hydrant near a handicap accessible ramp located at the northeast corner of the county building property.
