MetzlerPond 2019 - METZLER RANCH POND – DETENTION POND RETROFIT PROJECT

Castle Rock Water is seeking a Consultant Team to provide design engineering services for a storm
drainage capital improvement project at the Metzler Ranch Community Park. The capacity, and
condition, of the existing Metzler Ranch Detention Pond is currently insufficient to contain, and provide
the required water quality, for projected storm event flows (see Attachment 1 – Metzler Detention Pond
Retrofit Site Map). The Metzler Ranch Detention Pond is located at the downstream end of Reach 2 of
Tributary D; located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Front Street and Sam Walton Lane. A
field survey conducted in 2005 determined that the Metzler Detention Pond had an approximate
capacity of 32.1 acre-feet. This is less volume than the calculated design volume of 44 acre-feet.
