Summary of Specifications:
The Town of Castle Rock Parks Department is requesting proposals from qualified landscape architectural consultants to partner with and lead an interdisciplinary team for the design of a new neighborhood park in Castle Rock, Colorado. The 7.62 acre park site is described a Tract U-1 Castle Oaks Estates Filing 1 6th Amendment and is located in the Castlewood Ranch subdivision in Castle Rock, Colorado. Approximately 3 to 4 acres of the site will be developed through the project and will include a small playfield, picnic pavilions, off-street parking area, playgrounds, concrete walkways, site furnishings, security lighting, irrigation and landscaping. The attached concept plan illustrates the intended general scope of the project. The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to obtain all necessary, surveying, geotechnical, architectural, landscape architectural and engineering services necessary to take the project to final design development, through permitting to complete construction and bid documents.The Town intends to have final design complete by March 1, 2010. Construction of the facility will be scheduled to begin in May 1, 2010. The construction budget for the project is estimated at approximately $725,000. The successful proposal will integrate The Town of Castle Rock’s preference of creating unique, themed park designs. Castle Rock is also taking steps to be a leader in water conservation and desires to minimize long term operations and maintenance cost. Any proposed designs must balance this philosophy with the intensive uses that occur in active outdoor park settings.
