The Town of Paonia, Colorado (Town) is soliciting proposals from qualified public accounting firms (Consultant) interested in providing auditing services for the Town for fiscal year (FY) 2022 with the option of auditing its financial statements for each of the four subsequent years thereafter. The Town recognizes that the FY-2022 audit is behind schedule due to internal turnover and the closing of the audit firm that has historically performed the Town’s audits.
Renewals (up to four) will be automatic unless either party terminates the agreement prior to February 1st of each subsequent FY by giving the other party written notice. Either party shall have the right to terminate the agreement for default. The audits are to be performed in accordance with generally accepted governmental accounting principles as set forth by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board, and the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles in the United States of America.
The Town will not be bound or responsible for any explanations or interpretations other than those given in writing as set forth in this Request for Proposal (RFP). No oral interpretations will be made by the Town to any firm as to the requirements of this RFP.
Emailed PDF proposals titled in the subject as, “PROPOSAL FOR PROFESSIONAL AUDITING SERVICES,” will be accepted on or before 4:00 PM (MT) Thursday, September 14, 2023 (Deadline), at the email address below. Proposals tendered after the deadline will be rejected.

The Town shall reserve the right to reject any or all proposals, and to waive any informalities or irregularities therein and request new proposals when required.

Proposals submitted will be evaluated by a Selection Committee. The Town’s Selection Committee will review materials submitted with the RFP and select a list of Consultants for further consideration.
