The Town of Madison is seeking the services of qualified professional consultants/firms to develop a Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan that will improve and expand upon existing infrastructure. This Plan shall be developed in conjunction with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and include opportunity for community involvement throughout the process. The Town has adopted a Complete Streets Policy and it is anticipated that the Plan will remain focused to this model. Madison is a residential community located along the Long Island Sound shoreline often lauded for amenities such as its quaint downtown, parks and beaches, and high achieving public school system. Community goals prioritize the need for improving options for mobility such as enhancing walking opportunities and identifying bicycle routes in Town. This Plan will serve as a guidance document which can become the framework for future planning and justification for future actions, in terms of policies and infrastructure improvements by the Town. This Plan should be well organized and actionable as to guide decision makers and the public in the direction needed to attain our goals.
