Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1000 Tons (One Thousand Tons) of winter sand; The sand shall consist of clean, very hard, durable, uncoated partials of quartz or other acceptable hard rock that is free from clay, loam, soft flaking materials or other unsuitable matter. The sand provided shall mix properly in a uniform fashion with salt and flow well as it passes through the spreader aster being stored in outdoor conditions. The sand provided must be easily swept off the road surfaces the following spring. The material delivered shall be free any frozen lumps of sand. The product shall not contain more than four percent (4%) of materials finer than a #200 sieve using the AASHTO method T11 and shall also conform to the following gradation requirements.
