1 Christina works hard to ensure that it provides education services consistent with all applicable laws. Counsel will be expected to understand all applicable laws and provide appropriate and timely advice and legal counsel to the Board and the Administration on emergent and potential legal issues to ensure Christina complies with all laws. 2. Counsel is expected to respond, at least verbally to be followed in writing, within a maximum of twenty-four hours when an inquiry is made by the Board or the Administration. 3. Written legal opinions upon request. 4. Aid in the development of policies and/or review of policies in accordance with law when changes are being considered. 5. Initiate and/or defend lawsuits as necessary and at the direction of the Board. 6. Consider all areas for potential recovery of expenses and costs. 7. Prepare all necessary legal documents. 8. Review contracts upon request from district administration or the Board. 9. Knowledgeable in State Procurement Laws (Title 29) including construction contracts and contracts covered under public works, professional services, and material and nonprofessional services. 10. Familiarity with issues related to construction management and general contracting.
