Proposal shall identify and describe how the Provider will meet each of the following: a. Curriculum and materials with courses that incorporate trauma-informed evidence-based interventions. Curriculum should include programming focused on understanding of victims’ rights and the facts about criminal victimization. Classes will address criminal thinking, denial, prevent violence, hate, bias, increasing insight and accountability, selfhealing strategies, and increase awareness of the impact of crime on victims, primarily through the process of interactive journaling. BHSAMH has identified Office for Victims of Crime – Victim Impact and the Insight Prison Project – Victim Offender Education Group as examples of programs to consider; however proposals can suggest other curriculum for BHSAMH review and approval. The curriculum will: 1) Teach self-change toward a responsible lifestyle; 2) Identify the impact of crime on victims; 3) Allow offenders to reflect on criminal thinking and improve decision-making; 4) Provide guidance on how to make amends with indirect and direct victims; and 5) Teach offenders that victims deserve to have their rights enforced and their voices heard. b. Length of time (weeks) to complete a group/cohort to include the number of sessions per week and how long each session takes. Sessions should be two (2) hours or less. c. Minimum and maximum number of participants per group/cohort. d. Utilize the University of Cincinnati Correctional (UCCI) Program Checklist (CPC) as a guide to deliver the program. This tool was developed for creating and assessing correctional intervention programs and is used to ascertain how closely correctional programs meet known principles of effective intervention as means to reduce recidivism. e.
