Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Education Department on behalf of the District of Columbia Department of Corrections seeks a contractor to provide general and special education instruction and related services provided by the contracted LEA to eligible inmates. The contractor must be authorized to operate as an education provider within the DC Central Detention Facility (CDF) at 1901 D St SE, Washington, DC 20003 and Correctional Treatment Facility (CTF) at 1901 E Street SE, Washington, DC 20003 The contractor shall hire and manage the staff who provide instructional and related services to students with disabilities up through age 21 in the CDF and CTF. Instruction of students and administration of the program shall begin on July 1, 2023 and continue through September 30, 2026. Instruction and related services must align to federal and District education requirements and the requirements outlined in each student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP). The Contractor will hire and manage staff to perform administrative services to oversee DOC’s education program for students with disabilities and will coordinate with the DOC to ensure the program meets student needs and complies with federal and District policies.
