Summary of Specifications:
2. SCOPE OF WORK a. Option 1. The Contractor shall remove existing roofing over the operator stations and the breezeway from the Water Plant Operations Building. The Contractor shall remove all of the roof supports and modify the support to elevate the basin side, and repair all flanges or webs that show excessive ware. The Contractor shall drill the flanges to accept a bolted connection for the intermediate roof support angles. The Contractor shall sand blast (SSPC-SP6) and paint all of the carbon steel per the enclosed specifications. The selected color shall be determined by WTP Director for the finish coat. The Contractor shall re-install the roof support columns and intermediate roof support angles. The Contractor shall install a new corrugated metal roof with a profile similar to existing and one gutter with a minimum of three (3) downspouts. The breezeway support steel shall be cleaned and painted, in place; power tool cleaning shall be the accepted method of cleaning. The Contractor shall replace the corrugated metal roof over the breezeway. The Contractor shall grout the columns and seal with RTV to assure moisture does not migrate beneath the columns. Note: there shall be no sandblasting or spay painting on the water basin deck. b. Option 2. The Contractor shall remove the existing roofing over the operator stations and the breezeway from the Water Plant Operations Building. The Contractor shall remove all of the roof supports and replace in kind utilizing standard structural shapes and have bolted connections with an approximated 5 degree slope towards the Water Plant Operations Building. The Contractor shall paint the support assemblies prior to installation in accordance with the enclosed painting specifications. The surface preparation shall be (SSPC-SP6). The connecting intermediate roof support angles shall have a bolted connection. The Contractor shall install a new corrugated metal roof of profile similar to existing and one gutter with a minimum of three (3) downspouts. The breezeway support steel shall be cleaned and painted in place; power tool cleaning shall be the accepted method of cleaning. The Contractor shall install a new corrugated metal roof, with a profile similar to the existing. The Contractor shall grout the columns and seal with RTV to assure moisture does not migrate beneath the columns.
