Summary of Specifications:
SEALED PROPOSALS from qualified contractors to provide Landscape Maintenance Services for the Tourist Development Council (TDC) shall be received by the BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF BAY COUNTY, FLORIDA at the Purchasing Department, 840 W. 11th Street, Suite 2500, Panama City, Florida 32401 up until 1:30 PM (CST) on June 11, 2012. Sealed proposals shall be publically opened at 2:00 PM (CST) on June 11, 2012. Proposals shall be submitted in a sealed envelope, plainly marked with respondent’s name, address, date and time of opening, and RFP number 12-25 for Landscape Maintenance Services for the TDC. As an agent of Bay County, Florida, the TDC will select an evaluation committee that will evaluate the proposals and select a contractor to recommend to the Board of County Commissioners of Bay County, Florida. The contract to be entered will be between the firm selected by the TDC and the Board of County Commis¬sioners of Bay County, Florida. The TDC will serve as the County's representative to administer and implement the contract. Please submit one (1) original and five (5) copies of your Proposal package. Description of Work: The Board of County Commissioners for Bay County, Florida is requesting proposals from interested and qualified contractors to provide landscape maintenance services for the TDC. These landscaping services include: grass cutting, weeding; trimming, pruning, guying of trees and shrubs; ground cover and flower bed plantings and maintenance; trash, debris, and leaf removal from grassed and landscaped areas; insect, disease, and weed control; fertilization and tree and shrub transplanting or installation. The Contractor shall have a thorough knowledge of, and extensive experience with, all varieties of trees, shrubs, turf grasses, palms, and plants in the landscaped areas, as well as their cultural and maintenance requirements. The Contractor shall have a thorough knowledge of, and extensive experience in, irrigation installation and maintenance. The successful contractor shall supply and furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, fuels, and supervision, and bear all items of expense, necessary to perform landscaping services for the TDC. The Scope of Services will include year-round maintenance of significant landscaping which is a major component of the face of tourism on Panama City Beach. Only firms which are currently maintaining comparable landscaped areas, and have maintained those areas for at least two years need apply. Specific examples must be submitted and will be inspected and recommendations from current customers are required.
