Summary of Specifications:
1. Quantities: Anticipated annual quantity is approximately 25 shipments, via truck, with between 48,000 pounds and 52,000 pounds per shipment. No minimum or maximum annual quantity is guaranteed.
2. Quality Specifications:
a. In compliance with AWWA B 202 (latest edition), AWWA Standard for Quicklime.
b. To be manufactured by the rotary kiln process.
c. The Quicklime shall be "RICE SIZE", 1/8" to 7/16", such that none of the crushed quicklime is retained on a ½" screen and not more than 5 percent shall pass a No. 100 US standard sieve at time of shipment from suppliers plant.
d. The Quicklime shall have not less than 80 percent available calcium oxide (CaO), and shall be substantially free from carbonate solids and siliceous residue.
e. During the months of October, April, June, and August of the contract period, the supplier must furnish results of analysis of the calcium oxide (CaO) content from at least one shipment of quicklime delivered to the County during that month, the sampling and analyses to be conducted using techniques specified in AWWA B202 Section 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3.
f. There shall be no excessive sand, pebble, core or any other coarse, gritty, insoluble material.
