RFB-08-39 - SUPPLY FERRIC SULFATE

Summary of Specifications:
a. Shall meet all provisions of NSF/ANSI Standard 60 Certification for Drinking Water and AWWA Standard B406-97: Standard for Liquid Ferric Sulfate, latest revision, and the requirements contained within. 

b. Shall meet the physical and chemical properties listed below, and shall be supplied as an aqueous solution containing not less than 12% ferric iron, all soluble. 

c. The ferric sulfate must be free from extraneous material. 

d. The ferric sulfate shall have the following chemical properties: 

Ferrous Iron: 0.15% max. Free Acid (as % H2SO4): 1.00% max. * % Insoluble 0.10% max. 

*Based on Bay County’s raw water conditions, the supplier must be capable of providing Ferric Sulfate with a free acid (as H2SO4) concentration up to 2.5% when needed. 

e. The ferric sulfate shall not contain specific impurities in excess of the following limits (by weight). Each bidder must provide in the bid package the results of an analysis for the parameters listed below for their proposed ferric sulfate.
