INVITATION TO BID (ITB) 43-07/08 FOR INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS ON LENOX AVENUE AND 6TH STREET
Sealed bids will be received by the City of Miami Beach Procurement Division, 3rd Floor, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida 33139, until 3:00 p.m. on the 13th day of October, 2008 for Infrastructure Improvements on Lenox Avenue and 6th Street.
Scope of Work
The work specified in this bid consists of furnishing all labor, machinery, tools, means of transportation, supplies, equipment, materials, services necessary for Rebuilding the road and sidewalk, installation of drainage, lighting, and landscaping in the 6th Street and Lenox Avenue right of way only. Work in 5th Street and Alton Road Right of Way is not included in the scope.
The work under this Project includes, but is not limited to site preparation; earthwork, milling and resurfacing, sidewalk replacements / reconstruction; storm drainage infrastructure installation; lighting; and streetscape / planting Improvements.
The Prime Contractor should be a utility contractor, performing at least 40% of the work with his/her own workforce. The bidder (General Contractor) must have` a valid State of Florida General Contractor’s License or Underground Contractor License.
Estimated Construction Budget: The estimated construction cost is $ 1.5 million.
Bid Guaranty: A Bid Guaranty of 5% is required with bid submission, and the successful Bidder executing the Contract will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Bidders will be required to submit a letter of intent, from an A rated Financial Class V surety company to bond the Project.
At the time, date, and place above, bids will be publicly opened. Any bids received after time and date specified will be returned to the bidder unopened. The responsibility for submitting a bid before the stated time and date is solely and strictly the responsibility of the bidder. The City is not responsible for delays caused by mail, courier service, including U.S. Mail, or any other occurrence.
A Pre-Bid Conference is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on September 24, 2008 at the following address: City of Miami Beach, City Hall – City Manager’s Large Conference Room, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida.
Attendance (in person or via telephone) to this Pre-Bid submission meeting is encouraged and recommended as a source of information but is not mandatory. Bidders interested in participating in the Pre-Bid submission meeting via telephone must follow these steps:

The cost for these CDs is $20.00; company checks and cash accepted, no credit cards please. The CDs can be picked up in the Procurement Division, 3rd Floor, City Hall.
