Summary of Specifications:
RFQ No. 19-04/05 PROGRAMMING, DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS, PERMITTING, BID AND AWARD AND CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION SERVICES FOR BICYCLE/PEDESTRIAN/GREENWAY PROJECTS TO BE KNOWN AS THE ATLANTIC GREENWAY NETWORK (AGN) The purpose of issuing this Request for Qualifications is to solicit proposals from qualified consultants to provide the City of Miami Beach with the planning and development of a series of bicycle/pedestrian/greenway projects to be known as the Atlantic Greenway Network (AGN). The Atlantic Greenway Network is made up of two main trail systems; the Beach Corridors, which extend in a general northbound/southbound direction, running between the erosion control line and the dune system; and the Neighborhood Trails, which extend in a general east-west as well as north-south directions through the south, middle, and north beach neighborhoods. Individual projects will be constructed to create a continuous trail network allowing for alternative transportation and community enhancement. The objectives of physical improvements are to support multimodal transportation, link bicycle and pedestrian destinations, increase pedestrian and bicycle safety, improve trail network connectivity, eliminate barriers that prevent bicycle trips, and develop future bikeway corridors. Physical consideration may include, but not be limited to, completing gaps in service, developing new, conceptual bikeway corridors, as well as on-street improvements to improve Bicycle Level of Service. Sealed qualifications will be received at 3:00 PM on June 7, 2005 at the following address: City of Miami Beach, City Hall - Procurement Division, Third Floor, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida 33139. Any response received after 3:00 PM on June 7, 2005 will be returned to the proposer unopened. The responsibility for submitting qualifications before the stated time and date is solely strictly the responsibility of the proposer. The City will not be responsible for delays caused by mail, courier service, including U.S. Mail, or any other occurrence. A Pre-RFQ Submission Conference is scheduled for May 19, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at the following address: City of Miami Beach, City Hall, Fourth Floor City Manager’s Large Conference Room, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida.
