Invitation to Bid# 47-11/12 TO PROVIDE GROUNDS MAINTENANCE SERVICES ON SELECTED SITES THROUGHOUT THE SOUTH BEACH DISTRICT Sealed bids will be received by the City of Miami Beach Procurement Division, 3rd Floor, 1700 Convention Center Drive, Miami Beach, Florida 33139, until 3:00 p.m. on September 17, 2012. ANY BIDS RECEIVED AFTER 3:00 P.M. ON SEPTEMBER 17, 2012, WILL BE RETURNED TO THE BIDDER UNOPENED, AND WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR SUBMITTING BIDS BEFORE THE STATED TIME AND DATE IS SOLELY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BIDDER. PURPOSE: The purpose of this bid is to establish a contract, by means of sealed bids, for qualified vendor(s) to provide grounds maintenance service on selected sites within the South Beach District of Miami Beach. SCOPE OF WORK: The work specified in this Bid requires the bidder to furnish all labor, machinery, tools, means of transportation, supplies, equipment, materials, services and incidentals necessary to provide complete landscape maintenance services, as specified herein. The work shall include, but not limited to: litter retrieval, trash receptacles service and maintenance and waste disposal; landscape maintenance, mowing, edging, pruning; pathway, sidewalk and hardscape maintenance; herbicide/insecticide/fertilizer application; turf management; irrigation system operation maintenance / repair; and replacement of plants as required. TERM: The contract(s) entered into with the successful bidder(s) will have an initiated term of three (3) years, and may be renewed at the sole discretion of the City, through its City Manager, for two (2) additional one (1) year terms. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Prospective bidders must submit with their bids, or within five (5) working days from request by the City, six (6) references, of which at least three (3) separate references must be for contracts valued over $100,000/year in landscaping services. Also, prospective bidders must meet qualifications as set forth by Section 3.2 of the Bid. BID GUARANTY: All bids must be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of $10,000. PAYMENT AND PERFORMANCE BOND: The successful Bidder executing the contract will be required to provide a Performance Bond, in the amount of $175,000; Payment Bond, in the amount of $400,000; and evidence of required insurance, within fifteen (15) calendar days after notification of award of the Contract.
