The City of Pensacola owns and operates the oldest natural gas distribution system in the State of Florida comprised of 52,600 customer services and over 1,745 miles of mains. The franchised operating area is Escambia County, Florida with the exception of the Town of Century and Pensacola Beach. The system’s gas supply is received at three major receipt points. The major portion of the system operates at 60 PSIG MAOP. As of September 2020, mains consist of 609 miles of steel and 1,136 miles of PE pipe. Services consist of 9,086 steel and 43,505 PE services. In November 2020, Pensacola Energy will acquire an additional 186 services in the north end of the franchise territory.
Pensacola Energy seeks a vendor to perform a walking leak survey with leak detector equipment of the distribution system including gas mains, services, and meters in accordance with Title 49 Part 192 of the Code of Federal Regulations and Chapter 25-12 of the Rules of the Florida Public Service Commission.
During the leak survey, vendor will also be required to perform the following actions:
1. Inspect for atmospheric corrosion and record condition of all above ground pipeline facilities used in the distribution of gas including metallic line pipe, valves, regulators, relief valves, residential meters, commercial meters, gate stations, assemblies, and other appurtenances connected to the distribution system.
2. Record meter reading.
