RFB-063701 - Bar Coding of Textbooks

Summary of Specifications:
The Escambia School District is moving to an automated textbook inventory system for the 2006-2007 school year. The software, which has been purchased, is Destiny Textbook Management Solution by Follett Software Company. The Escambia School District has not had an electronic inventory system for textbooks in the past. The new system will require processing of books on the State / District adopted textbook list. A total of twenty (20) school sites will begin using the system in August 2006. All of these schools are middle and high schools. 



The purpose of this bid is to contract for processing services for the textbooks for these 20 schools populating the inventory system prior to August 2006. The processing required would involve both barcode placement and data entry into the inventory system. Approximately 130,000 books will need to be processed before August. The School Board desires to award the contract for a period of one year and reserves the right to terminate or to renew the contract for two other successive one (1) year periods at its option. (Within this additional two year span the Vendor would process books at the District’s remaining 40+ elementary schools / educational centers as well as new textbooks received within that time for all schools.)
