Summary of Specifications:
Hernando County Board of County Commissioners is soliciting Vendor/Contractors active in paving of existing limerock roads, which includes, but is not limited to, clearing and grubbing, road widening, re-establishing limerock base, asphalt paving, asphalt driveway aprons, shoulder grading, and thermoplastic markings. The project consists of clearing and grubbing, road widening, re-establishing the limerock base, asphalt paving, asphalt driveway aprons and shoulder grading. Thermoplastic markings shall be installed on cured asphalt after county approval. It will be the CONTRACTORs responsibility to provide Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) and sediment and dust control plan at the pre-construction meeting and shall be provided during construction at all times. Sodding of the finished shoulder is included. Watering of the sod and shoulders is at the contractor’s expense and is required. Shallow swales shall be maintained by Hernando County. 67.1. Royal Highlands Area “I” is (Multiple roads) existing county owned and maintained lime rock roads within Royal Highlands. The roads shall be re-shaped with a 2% crown or be “out sloped” to a max of 3.5% and all roads will have a minimum of 4” additional lime rock base added and be paved with 1 ½” of asphalt. The finished roads will be 20 feet in width, and have a cross-section as depicted on the enclosed typical (sheets). 67.2. Part I of the bid form is for the paving of Royal Highlands Area I – MSBU Project including Hoodridge Ct. Part II of the bid form is only for the relocation of Hoodridge Ct which is not part of the MSBU project.
