The River Heights Estates neighborhood along the Withlacoochee River is isolated when the river reaches flood stage and closes the lone existing means of ingress into the community. The proposed roadway will bypass the flooded area and provide residents with a reliable means of access during periods of flooding. The project will be designed to meet Hernando County roadway standards and comply with Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) drainage criteria.
