Summary of Specifications:
The project calls for full depth reclamation of the existing asphalt and base. The material shall be pulverized utilizing specialized equipment that adds a base stabilizer during this process. It will be the Contractor’s responsibility to do geotechnical testing on the existing base material and provide a design mix signed and sealed by a registered Engineer in the state of Florida. The mix design is subject to approval by Hernando County Engineering. Two layers of asphalt are to be placed on the stabilized reclaimed base. The first layer shall be 1 ½” SP 12.5 asphalt and the final layer shall be 1” FC 9.5 asphalt. Temporary pavement markings shall be placed with new asphalt. Final thermoplastic markings shall be installed on cured asphalt after county approval. It will be the Contractor’s responsibility to provide a Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plan and a chart depicting the project schedule at the pre-construction meeting. Sodding, including watering of the road shoulders is required on all disturbed areas or as directed by the County. The Contractor shall accomplish the work in a manner providing for the safety of their equipment and workers and for the safety of the general public.
