Summary of Specifications:
1. SCOPE: The work under this contract consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials, and equipment and performing all operations in connection with the IDIQ Paving Contract. Paving work includes installing an asphaltic concrete bike path approximately 5 feet wide by 1,055 feet long along Eglin Blvd.
2. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: In general, the work shall consist of the following:
a. Remove, clear, and grub approximately 5,273 Ft2 of grassed roadway shoulder along Eglin Blvd – eastbound behind the Climatic Lab. b. Installation of 5,273 Ft2 (6” depth) of sand clay base in-place. c. Installation of 5 Ft wide by 1,055 Ft long bike path using SP 9.5 Asphalt – 2 inches in depth. d. Compact sub grades and base material to 95% max dry density IAW "Modified Proctor" test, ASTM D1557 / AASHTO T180. e. Provide 2 foot wide strip of Argentine Bahia or Bermuda sod along both sides of the bike path. f. Relocate building information sign approximately 5 feet west of its current position. Set vertical columns in concrete as before. g. Install (2) concrete guard rail foundations 20” wide by 12” deep approximately 10 feet in length. Use 3,000 psi concrete mix. Sod around concrete foundation. h. Install (2) 10 foot sections of FLDOT Aluminum Handrail – Reference Index 860 Florida Department of Transportation Design Standards.
