Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is seeking a custom-built manatee transport truck box with climate control and liftgate to be installed on an FWC Ford F-550 chassis. The truck will meet all the specifications below and be suitable for transporting a live manatee. 1. TRUCK SPECIFICATIONS 1.1. Custom fabricated 16’L x 96”W x 84”H aluminum dry freight body with standard insulation and water repellent 12GA aluminum bar material on FWC provided 2023 Ford F-550 chassis. 1.2. 4’ attic with 2” flange and edge trim 1.3. Diamond plate radius front 1.4. ¼” aluminum deck plate floor 1.5. Aluminum extrusion 4” I-beam cross members on 12” centers with aluminum extrusion 4” channel. 1.6. One piece aluminum roof skin with reinforced roof framing for AC unit and standard insulation, with interior water repellent 12GA aluminum bare material. 1.7. Solid bulkhead with approximately 30” x 20” horizontal sliding window and screen to line up with the rear cab window so driver can see employees and manatee in cargo area. 1.8. Rear galvanized frame built for a rail liftgate. 1.9. Standard rear premium roll-up door with a bolt padlock 1.10. Mounted on wood cushion with u-bolts to chassis frame rails. 1.11. Standard undercoating on all parts of the understructure and on the underside of the floor. 2. ROADSIDE 2.1. Furnish and install one smooth aluminum under box toward the front of the box truck on the driver side– 90”L x 20”H x 22”D, (two drop down doors with two stainless steel t-handle locks and chain retainers for each door). a. One (1) bolt-on panel behind the rear door attached to the door frame. b. One (1) bolt-on partition inside box behind center post. c. Six (6) vents punched in the rear of the under box with a splash shield (each vent will have four louvers). • Powder coated white or liquid spray. d. One (1) set of mounting brackets (steel mounting brackets will need to be used due to the flared chassis frame and brake line brackets). • Powder coated black. e. One (1) set of side under box supports. Bolted to the side of under box up to the front cross member and floor. The front side plate, one (1) .125” x 5” x 15” and the rear side plate, one (1) .125” X 9” x 15”. f. The under box will be mounted so it is no lower than 16” from the ground. 2.2. Box truck side wall to have an approximately 30” X 20” horizontal sliding window and screen (part #rv 30x20x1-1/2). The window to line up with the attic (centered in height with the attic) and centered above the rear tire, so employees can open windows for cross ventilation. 2.3. DEF fluid fill with support. 2.4. Diesel fuel fill with support. 2.5. Box truck side wall white.
