Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall perform timely and deliver to the District Interpreting Services to eligible students, as determined by the Individual Education Plan (IEP) and to parents who require such a mode of communication. Interpreting services to include intermittent/substitute service and portal to portal (for interpreters traveling outside of their county); 1. Provides receptive and expressive communication access for students who are deaf or hard of hearing through interpreting, as indicated on their IEPs, in both academic settings and at school related activities. 2. Supports opportunities for students who are deaf or hard of hearing to fully participate in classroom discussions and social interactions. 3. Provides student support, under the direction of the classroom teacher, by previewing or reviewing classroom instructional information. 4. Participates in IEP meetings as an active member of the IEP Team. 5. Collaborates with school staff to support the appropriate delivery of IEP accommodations. 6. Prepares for interpreting assignments, when possible, by acquiring, reviewing and researching topics/materials to be covered 7. Maintains required confidentiality of personal information about students and staff.
