Specifications include, but are not limited to: 404-acre timber sale located on Four Creeks State Forest (SFI Certified Forest #NSF-SFI-FM-C0245755 in Nassau County, Florida (see attached maps). Stands 1-5, and 7 are fourth row logger select thinnings from below on approximately 344 acres of 19- to 23-year-old slash pine. Timber to be removed includes every fourth row and select trees in the remaining rows in order to reach 70 square feet of residual basal area per acre. Trees to be removed from the selection rows include diseased, damaged, forked, and suppressed trees, smaller diameter trees, and a portion of the intermediate, and co-dominant trees to reach the desired basal area. Leave trees should be evenly spaced throughout the sale area. ; The target basal are per acre can be adjusted by the Forester-In-Charge as needed due to variations in stand and site conditions. Stand 6 is an approximately 60-acre thinning from below of 28-year-old slash pine. Trees to be removed include all pulpwood trees and a portion of the chip-n-saw trees to reach 60 square feet of residual basal area per acre. Harvested trees in the chip-n-saw product class will be limited to smaller diameter, diseased, damaged, forked, and suppressed trees before any co-dominant or dominant trees are removed. Logging decks and skid trails must be approved by the Forester-In-Charge. Sale boundaries are roads, state forest boundaries, wetlands, or obvious timber type changes.
