The primary purpose of this solicitation is to establish a separate failover and redundant network to support critical safety, telephony and facilities equipment communications across the City in the event of a WAN failure or unforeseen disconnect; this is in addition to providing daily Internet service at the sites/locations. Therefore, for the best interest of the City and to establish a high level of redundancy and safety in the network, bids will only be valid or accepted from vendors not currently providing WAN services to the City. In addition, for the City to effectively manage the services, only bids for all sites will be accepted, with all sites being provided by a single Internet Service Provider (ISP).
