Area One contains 188 acres, and Area Two contains 105 acres. Timber to be removed includes every fourth row and select trees in remaining rows to reach a target basal area of 70 square feet per acre. Timber to be removed in select rows will be harvested based on the following criteria: diseased, damaged, defective, forked, and suppressed trees shall be harvested first, followed by a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant trees to reach the desired basal area. Leave trees should be evenly spaced throughout the sale area. The target basal area per acre and/or number of trees per acre can be adjusted by the Forester-in-Charge as needed due to variations in stand and site conditions. Sale boundaries are marked property boundaries, roads, firelines, or wetlands. Decks and skid trails are designated with blue paint on all blocks to be thinned. Property boundary trees are marked with white bands or property signs and are not to be harvested or damaged. Estimated volumes to be removed are 4,809 tons of pine pulpwood and 2,983 tons of pine chip-and-saw and better.
