Broward Health is seeking to contract with a qualified firm capable of providing supplemental outsourcing of Inpatient and Outpatient Coding Services to ensure timely processing of claims and reimbursement as Broward Health prepares for the transition from Cerner to Epic. Broward Health’s primary objective in the evaluation of proposals for coding services is to select an experienced partner with the ability to provide high quality coding services and a cost-effective coding solution. Broward Health has a primary coding contracted vendor. This RFP seeks to award a secondary coding vendor. Utilization for this contract will be on an as needed basis. • Broward Health’s current electronic health record (EHR) is Cerner. 100% of the chart is in Cerner. • Broward Health will transition to Epic on November 2, 2024. • The awarded Contractor must be able to provide coding services in both Cerner and Epic. • All work will be performed remotely. • Coders are not responsible for charges; however, if the coder recognizes any obvious errors, the account should be placed on hold for Broward Health to review.
