The Governing Board of the St. Johns River Water Management District is requesting sealed bids for a per ton timber sale comprised of approximately 83 acres (“Sale Area”) within the Lake George Conservation Area, located in Putnam County south of Crescent City, Florida. The Sale Area is in Section 33; Township 12 South; Range 27 East. (Maps are included in the attached agreement.) This timber sale is a combination of marked thinning and logger-select thinning located within slash pine plantations that were established in 1986, and previously thinned in 2008. The marked portion of the sale area is approximately 71.3 acres, and trees for harvest are marked with blue paint at eye level. The loggerselect area is 11.7 acres and timber to be harvested is based on the following criteria: diseased, defective, and suppressed trees shall be harvested first, followed by a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant trees to reach the desired basal area range of 45 to 50 square feet per acre. The District estimates the volume of timber conveyed in this Agreement to be 826 tons of pine pulpwood, 569 tons of chip-n-saw (CNS), but there is no guarantee that the volume is present.
