The City of Indian Harbour Beach adopted a tree preservation ordinance and a Tree Preservation Board in 2024 and became a Tree City USA in 2025. The City’s Department of Public Works is responsible for the maintenance of all City properties and vegetation. Specifically, the City has five parks of which one (Gleason Park) is heavily forested. The City is seeking responses from qualified and experienced tree consultants to provide a complete city-wide tree inventory which will serve as the basis for the development of a Citywide tree management plan. The consultant will need to be a Certified Arborist from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and should have a Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) from the ISA. The City has secured grant funding to engage an experienced consultant to complete a city-wide tree inventory. The inventory will identify and collect data on every tree located on City-owned or managed property. These sites include parks, common areas, medians, etc. The project will provide GIS mapping, species classification, size, and condition information.
