The existing seawalls include: • Recreation Center Seawall: 428 linear feet, constructed of concrete panels with a concrete cap. • Horan Park Seawall: 543 linear feet, constructed of vinyl panels with a concrete cap. The replacement shoreline protection should: • Extend approximately 970 linear feet. • Maintain a minimum cap elevation of 5 feet NAVD 88. Consider a provision for future elevation increase. • Integrate a combination of living shoreline and hardened structure. • Properly tie into adjacent private (north) and FDOT (south) seawalls. • Provide public-friendly features, such as seating areas, shade, and/or fishing opportunities. Key Design Considerations • Flood resilience and erosion protection. • Environmental integration, including protection of existing marine life. • Enhancement of public spaces for recreational and educational purposes. • Preservation of scenic view sheds and accessibility improvements.
