Description

Project consists of the construction of a multi-use trail beginning at the baseball fields on Alumni Drive and following Rottenwood Creek to Franklin Gateway.
The time allowed for completion of the project will be <1095> calendar days.

A Base Bid shall allow for phased release for construction for the following three segments of the project. Contractor may choose the segment to construct first but shall be substantially complete before being granted NTP for any other subsequent segment. Substantial completion shall be after all concrete flatwork, drainage structures and bridge structures are constructed. The contractor shall submit a request to the city for approval of completion before moving to the subsequent segment. Contractor shall submit a schedule of days to complete each segment and total calendar days to complete the project.
Segment A – Begin Project Sta 100+00, 600+00, 200+00 TO Barclay Circle Sta 230+97.69
Segment B – Barclay Circle Sta 311+04.26 TO Cobb Pkwy/US 41 Sta 419+17.18
Segment C – Cobb Pkwy/US 41 Sta 506+14.49 TO End Project Sta 554+53.60

An Alternate Bid shall allow for non-phased construction and completion within specified time allowed. Contractor shall submit a schedule of days to complete each segment and total calendar days to complete the project.

City of Marietta reserves the right to award the construction contract based on bid and completion schedule.

Lane closures are not permitted between 6AM and 9AM or 4PM through 7PM Monday through Friday without prior approval from the City.

Any work performed outside these hours without prior approval will result in the assessment of Liquidated Damages at the rate of $500.00/hr. or portion of an hour.

These damages are in addition to any other specified damages as per Section 108.08, Failure or Delay in Completing Work on Time, or otherwise stated elsewhere in the Contract Documents.

Payment will be made monthly based on approved invoices for quantities of approved work completed.

Contractors shall submit a complete set of accurate “as-built” plans and specifications.

Contractors submitting bids over $2,000,000 shall be prequalified with the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The Contractors submitting a bid of $2,000,000 or less must be either prequalified or registered subcontractors with the Georgia Department of Transportation. All subcontractors including DBE firms are to be registered subcontractors or prequalified contractors.

The Contractor and their subcontractors are required to be in compliance with the "Georgia Security and Immigration Compliance Act." The Contractor must execute and submit at the time of the bid the "Contractor Affidavit and Agreement," (Page 1.15) or bid will be determined non-responsive and will be disqualified.
