2.1 GCSU recognizes that the traditional university bookstore business is in a transformational period. Therefore, GCSU has initiated this RFP Process to seek an innovative and proactive partner to effectively serve the GCSU Community. GCSU’s goal is to provide an innovative, state-of-the-art Bookstore that will result in the following: • An GCSU-Centric destination/retail facility and website • Improved Course Materials Services to the GCSU Community through the following: - Improved affordability for GCSU Students by reducing course materials costs and providing innovative course materials solutions and market share growth - Improved communication to GCSU Faculty regarding adoptions and utilization of the Bookstore for required course materials - Ongoing evaluation of course materials solutions and programs (e.g., Inclusive Access Programs, Equitable Access Course Materials Programs, etc.) • A Bookstore that features innovative retail products and services, including but not limited to, the following: - Enhancing the product selection to appeal to targeted GCSU markets (e.g., GCSU Students, prospective students, faculty, staff, alumni, families, fans, etc.) - Refreshing merchandise multiple times throughout the year - Curating selections of merchandise that appeal to GCSU Students (e.g., athletic wear, wellness related items, specialty health and beauty aid products, etc.) • Improved customer satisfaction through the following: - Cutting-edge retail innovation - Utilization of technology - Comprehensive community engagement - Proactive collaboration with GCSU departments (e.g., alumni, student groups, etc.) - Proactive marketing strategy, including targeted marketing via social media, improving web traffic and online sales, etc. • Increased sales and market share of GCSU branded merchandise
