Specifications include, but are not limited to: The consultant will provide a scope of work designed to increase teacher retention rate in BCSD. The scope of work will include job embedded professional development that will complement the existing training that is offered by BCSD Professional Learning Department. The professional development will include the following: • Social Emotional support to prevent the teacher from being overwhelmed and experiencing burnout. This support will address teachers’ competence and confidence which will directly impact the retention rate, as well as improvement student achievement. • The professional development should address Instructional planning and how to implement the instructional framework. This includes but is not limited to understanding standards- based learning which requires teachers to articulate clear learning targets and the success criteria. • Instructional delivery should address how to present the lesson in such a way that it will successfully close the achievement gap, address learning loss, and create a safe learning environment. • The consultant should address how to analyze data and use it to improve instructional planning and instructional strategies to address student needs. • The consultant should provide individualized coaching sessions (1on1) as well as small group coaching sessions.
