Standard 24” Concrete Curb & Gutter Specifications: a. All curb & gutter must be flush at joint so that there is a height difference of 0” between adjoining curbs. b. Joints shall be placed 20’ OC. Typ. c. The curb & gutter shall be installed using 2500 psi concrete. d. The curb & gutter shall be standard 24” curb & gutter, GDOT 9032B, Type 2. e. All concrete must go to the full edge of the adjacent asphalt parking surface. f. All concrete shall be installed and graded to provide positive drainage toward any storm structures. g. All concrete must be smooth, flat (not concave or convex), and slip resistant (light broom). h. All concrete debris must be cleaned up and removed from the project site by the vendor, without the assistance of County equipment and/or personnel. i. If water is used in the installation process, all slurry will be trapped, collected, and disposed of properly. It is not permitted to allow the slurry to drain into the county storm drains and sewers. j. Installations must be made without damage to adjacent asphalt, sidewalks, structures, and surrounding landscape areas. Any damage must be repaired by the Contractor, with no expense to the County. The Contractor shall proceed with work using such reasonable care as a prudent individual would have exercised under given circumstances. k. All completed work must have an auditable invoice with locations and quantities installed. l. The Contractor shall provide a report of progress, site conditions, etc. electronically each week or as requested by the County. m. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends that walking surfaces have a static Coefficient of Friction (COF) of 0.5. While curb & gutter is not typically classified as a “walking surface” it is potentially a surface that may be walked on, upon, or across in a clear or rainy weather condition. Therefore, it is recommended to adhere to this by providing a light or medium broom finish as needed.
