Specifications include, but are not limited to: In general, the requested services include: commercial waste collection; weekly curbside residential solid waste/yard debris collection (to occur Tuesday and Wednesday to cover all residential areas); and, commercial and residential recyclables collection. The City’s goals in issuing this request for proposals (RFP) include: ✓ Securing services at the rate that best suits the needs of the City by consolidating and contracting for household collection services. ✓ Extending street and road life by minimizing heavy truck traffic throughout the City. ✓ Consolidating collection days to minimize the number of days materials are set out and minimize littering. ✓ Providing a basic level of solid waste management services to meet the waste reduction and disposal needs of residents, the City and the State of Georgia. ✓ Providing a revenue source for recyclables collected within the City. ✓ Reducing the amount of waste disposed of in local and regional landfills through a robust and marketed recycling program
