Sources Sought- Knox-box Fire Department Access Box and Knox Gate and Key Switch
Notice of intent to use a brand name product. The Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, Pacific (NAVFAC Pacific) is performing a market survey to determine if other potential sources of supply can provide a fire department access box that have equal performance and listing/approval requirements as the Knox Box 3200 series fire department access box and a Knox Gate and Key Switch manufactured by Knox Company.
Fiscal Year 2025 Military Construction, Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Project 693 PDI: Guam Defense System, Command Center, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam requires one Fire Department Access Box and one Gate and Key Switch with the following characteristics:
Fire Department Access Box
1. The fire department access box must be able to store building access keys, electronic access cards, and other small items necessary for emergency building access by the Fire Department.
2. The fire department access box must be of high security, heavy duty, attack resistant, and corrosion resistant to protect contents. Box housing shall be constructed of ¼-inch plate steel and door shall be constructed of ½-inch thick steel.
3. The fire department access box door must have a weather resistant door gasket to protect contents from moisture.
4. The fire department access box must be suitable for secured, recessed mounting in masonry construction.
5. The fire department access box must be UL listed as an anti-theft device.
6. The fire department access box must be keyed to accept the existing base fire department master Knox-Box key.
Fire Department Gate and Key Switch
1. The fire department gate and key switch must have a faceplate and lock cover to ensure weather resistant operation.
2. The fire department gate and key switch must allow for rapid access through electronic gates without forced entry and override electronic gates, motorized doors, and electrical switches.
3. The fire department gate and key switch must be UL 437 listed.
4. The fire department gate and key switch must be keyed to accept the existing base fire department master key.
This notification is for market research purposes only to identify if other potential sources of supply can meet the requirements of the Government. This is not a request for proposals, quotes, or an invitation for bid. The intent of this notice is to identify other potential sources of this product.
To be considered, please submit detailed technical data in order for the Government to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of your product to ensure compatibility with the existing system. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), a response to this notice is not an offer and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The responder is solely responsible for the information it submits and any associated costs. The Government reserves the right to disregard any submittal that is incomplete or vague. Please do not submit company brochures.

Information received after the due date/time will not be considered. Any information provided to the Government in response to this RFI will become U.S. Government property and will not be returned.
