I. Overview The Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, equipment, tools, and materials to provide battery recycling services for various transfer stations and convenience centers for a twelve (12) month period complete as specified herein for the City and County of Honolulu, Department of Environmental Services, Refuse Division. Use of this contract is mandatory by the Refuse Division. II. Performance Requirements A. Types of Batteries The batteries vary by type and quantity at each location. The following types of batteries are included: 1. Lead/acid automobile batteries 2. Lead/acid motorcycle batteries 3. Lead/acid commercial truck batteries 4. Small rechargeable uninterrupted power supply (“UPS”) and emergency lighting batteries 5. Small rechargeable UPS with batteries inside units 6. Automobile car jumper units with batteries inside 7. NiCad small format batteries* 8. NiCad medium format batteries** 9. NiCad wet industrial cell batteries 10. Nickel Metal Hydride small format batteries* 11. Nickel Metal Hydride medium format batteries** 12. Lithium Ion small format batteries* 13. Lithium Ion medium format batteries** 14. Lead/acid aircraft batteries
