1. Model: New, of current production model, meeting all current emission, efficiency, performance and safety standards and the following minimum specifications herein. 2. Cab: Two (2) door conventional cab, aluminum, aluminum with fiberglass or double galvanized steel construction, tilting fiberglass or composite material hood, heavy duty rubber floor mats, full width safety glass rear window, manufacturer’s dark tinted glass, grab handles for cab entry on both sides, and noise insulation package. 3. GVWR: 35,000 lbs. 4. Wheelbase: Of sufficient length to accommodate the cab/axle offered. 5. Cab/Axle: As required by the body manufacturer for the features specified. 6. Front Axle Capacity: 12,000 lb. capacity. 7. Rear Axle Capacity: 23,000 lb. capacity, single speed rear axle, with full locking differential, 6.17 ratio or closest gear ratio as available from the manufacturer, Eaton 23080S, Meritor RS-23-161, Dana Spicer S23060SH, or approved substitute. 8. Front Spring Capacity: 12,000 lb. capacity, tapered leaf type with front stabilizer or rubber auxiliary springs if required by manufacturer and heavy duty shock absorbers. 9. Rear Spring Capacity: 23,000 lb. capacity or manufacturer’s equivalent tapered or multi-leaf type with auxiliary springs if required by the manufacturer; rear stabilizer bar and heavy duty shock absorbers if required by the manufacturer. 10. Electrical System: 12 volts. Battery: Two (2) batteries, rated at 1,500 Cold Cranking Amps (“CCA”) total. A master power switch located in close proximity to the battery box that allows isolation of the battery and electrical system shall be provided. City to approve switch location prior to installation. Batteries to be housed in a location that provides for easy access for servicing or replacement. The battery compartment shall include rubber matting or other nonconductive flooring to insulate battery from direct contact with compartment bottom. Positive (power) and negative (ground) jumper lugs with direct connection to the starter shall be provided in an accessible location. Positive lug shall be permanently labeled to indicate electrical power source and include a protective cap or plug that prevents accidental contact with ground. Battery Cover: If applicable, anti-slip solid covers over batteries for protection and step-up.
